Most people don't book a first therapy session on a good day. They book it after the third sleepless night in a row, after snapping at someone they love, or after realizing the heaviness hasn't lifted in months.
Individual therapy gives you a set hour to slow down and sort through what's going on, one-on-one with a licensed counselor. At Virtue Counseling you see the same therapist every session, so the work builds instead of starting over.
Sessions mix practical skills with deeper work. Depending on what you're facing, that may include EMDR for trauma, DBT skills for intense emotions, and conversations about sleep, stress, movement, and nutrition when they're affecting your mood.
Prefer to meet from home? Secure telehealth sessions are available to anyone located in Idaho at the time of the session.

Consultations are available for new clients. There's no pressure, no judgment. Just a conversation about what you're dealing with and how we can help.
Good therapy looks at more than a list of symptoms. Sessions pair proven tools for what you're dealing with right now with room for the bigger questions, like meaning, purpose, and what you want your life to stand for.
Mental health is also tied to how you live day to day. When it's relevant, and you want to, sessions can look at how sleep, stress, movement, and nutrition affect your mood and energy.

Anxiety When worry runs the show, even small decisions feel heavy. Therapy helps you spot what sets off the spiral and practice DBT-based skills that bring your body and mind back down.
Depression Low energy, a flat mood, and pulling away from people you care about can creep in so slowly you stop noticing. Sessions focus on what's keeping you stuck and on small, steady steps that rebuild momentum.
Trauma Some experiences stay with you long after they're over. EMDR can help lower the emotional intensity of painful memories so you can work through them without feeling pulled back into them.
Burnout and Stress Burnout builds quietly, then shows up all at once. Therapy helps you sort out what's draining you, set limits that hold, and look at sleep and routines that may be adding to the strain.
Life Transitions A move, a new job, a breakup, or a new baby can shake your footing, even when the change is a good one. Therapy gives you a steady place to adjust and decide what comes next.
Relationship Struggles Not every relationship issue needs a partner in the room. Individual sessions can help you understand your own patterns in conflict and connection. If you'd like to work on it together, couples therapy is also available.
Meaning and Purpose Sometimes the hardest question isn't what's wrong, but what matters. Therapy can make room for honest conversations about values, identity, and where you want your life to go.
